Ernest Jean Joseph GODFRINON (1878-1927)

Godfrinon was a very sensitive and refined Belgian painter, born at Elsene in 1878. He received his artistic education at the Academy of Ixelles and at the Royal Academy of Brussels. He was primarily regarded as painter of landscapes, still lifes, interiors and intimate genre scenes in the Impressionist style.
Godfrinon was a member of the Belgian group “Le Sillon”, an artistic association founded in 1893 as a counterweight for Symbolism. Godfrinon’s work is to be found in the Charlier Museum in Brussels.
He died at Schaarbeek in 1927.
