Renato RIGHETTI (di Bosso) (Verona 1905 – Arbizzano in Valpolicella, Vr 1982)

Renato Righetti, better known as Renato Di Bosso, born in Verona in 1905, was a great Italian artist and painter of the Futurist movement, one of the most important talents expressed in the Veneto region in the 20th century, and the author of numerous modern sculptures and paintings.
The son of an artist, he was born into a family particularly versed in the fine arts, especially sculpture and wood carving. From a young age, he demonstrated great talent, so much so that he successfully directed his education towards artistic subjects, for which he always had a great passion: he was a brilliant student at the Accademia Cignaroli, the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona, from which he graduated in 1925. Thus began a rich and successful artistic production, drawn under the spell and influence of the Futurist artistic movement, whose greatest inspiration was Calabrian Umberto Boccioni, one of the greatest Italian sculptors and painters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the author of numerous modern paintings and paintings. It was precisely after his great idol that Righetti named the Futurist Group, founded in 1931 in his native Verona, after him. Around that same year, he took the name Di Bosso, suggested by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, inspired by the quality of wood he favored for his works. At the same time, he created his first Futurist-inspired work, the sculpture Violinista. In addition to wood, Di Bosso also used other unconventional materials, such as crystal and aluminum, the latter of which he used to create his famous Anticravatte (Antities). He participated in numerous art exhibitions, receiving numerous certificates of esteem in recognition of his prolific output.
After a life dedicated to the creation of artistically interesting and brilliant works, the painter passed away in 1982, at the age of 77.
