An event dedicated, for the first time and only for fifteen days, exclusively to the large format works by the painters of the Gallery. The exhibition offers the opportunity to discover a lesser known pictorial production and to immerse oneself in a dimension of great breadth.
\nAmong the Russians, Georgij Moroz (1937 – 2015) is perhaps the artist who mostly prefers to have large spaces, because the generous canvases are better able to accommodate his impetuous brushwork. The subjects represented are also wide-ranging, both poetic and vital, always linked to the energy of nature, such as the powerful “Sunflowers” (cm. 118 x 118) or “With the mother” (cm. 120 x 120), where the human figure is totally immersed in the landscape. Less usual, in this format, and therefore even more surprising are the still lifes of Maya Kopitzeva (1924 – 2005), from whose “Town window” (cm. 126 x 134) comes the desire to look out, as does “Tea Time” (cm. 110 x 90), original in composition and bold colors, suggests a serene and welcoming atmosphere. Still life paintings, but totally different, are the works with a delicate chromatic range, intensely lyrical in the “poverty” of the subjects (a table of rough wood, garlic, apples), by the Florentine Enzo Faraoni (1920 – 2017). Equally sober are the compositions by Igor Smekalov, whose almost austere figures are in perfect harmony with the immobile aura that surrounds them. Among the approximately 15 exhibited works, could not be missed the paintings by Gleb Savinov, one of the leading exponents of the Leningrad School, Dmitrij Kosmin, great representative of the Moscow School and those made exclusively with the Bic ballpoint pen by the contemporary Italian Andrea Pescio (Rabbit City, cm. 100 x 110).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
