{"id":19541,"date":"2025-10-09T17:55:43","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T15:55:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.galleriapirra.it\/evento\/between-water-and-sky\/"},"modified":"2025-10-09T18:00:02","modified_gmt":"2025-10-09T16:00:02","slug":"between-water-and-sky","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/www.galleriapirra.it\/en\/evento\/between-water-and-sky\/","title":{"rendered":"BETWEEN WATER AND SKY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An infinite horizon and the immensity of the sea reflecting shifting clouds, serenity and restlessness, openness and limitation: this exhibition project explores the affinities between water and sky, two natural elements that intertwine and engage in constant dialogue, and invites visitors to immerse themselves in a journey of landscapes and aerial visions.<br \/>\nThe rooms feature works by painters who, with profoundly different sensibilities and backgrounds, have captured the magic of the encounter between water and sky. Among the Italians, <strong>Giovanni Molteni (1898-1990)<\/strong> gently reveals the delicate harmonies of a springtime Portofino, <strong>Thayaht (1893-1959)<\/strong> enchants with a magnetic nocturnal seascape \u2013 exhibited at the Mart in Rovereto in 2005 \u2013, <strong>Edgardo Corbelli (1918-1989)<\/strong> offers a more expressionist interpretation, while <strong>Luisa Albert (1969)<\/strong> enhances nuances and reverberations. The exhibition also features the Danish artist <strong>Birgitte Lykke Madsen (1960)<\/strong>, who made water the primary focus of her pictorial production, and the French artist <strong>Henry Maurice Cahours (1889-1974)<\/strong>, a master of light, whose evocative Breton seascapes are imbued with poetry. Russian artists from the Moscow and St. Petersburg schools, including <strong>Georgy Moroz (1937-2015)<\/strong> and <strong>Dmitry Kosmin (1925-2003)<\/strong>, convey the lyrical power of Northern nature, with its vast rivers and deep skies. From figurative landscapes to pure abstraction, where color is used as a primary language capable of stimulating thought or arousing emotion: <strong>Dora Maar&#8217;s (1907-1997)<\/strong> <em>Abstract Turquoise Composition<\/em> is a prime example.<br \/>\nAlongside naturalistic influences, the exhibition opens up to a new dimension: that of flight, as narrated by the protagonists of Second Futurism. Its interpreters include the multifaceted <strong>Giovanni Acquaviva (1900-1971)<\/strong>, <strong>Arturo Ciacelli (1883-1966)<\/strong>, <strong>Renato Di Bosso (1905-1982)<\/strong>, <strong>Umberto Di Lazzaro (1889-1968)<\/strong>, <strong>Michele Falanga (1865-1937)<\/strong>, <strong>Osvaldo Peruzzi (1907-2004)<\/strong>, <strong>Ugo Pozzo (1900-1981)<\/strong>, and a very rare <strong>Giuseppe Cominetti (1882-1930)<\/strong> from 1919. With them, the sky is no longer merely contemplation, but conquest, a dynamic space, traversed by broken lines, vibrant colors, and surges that speak of the exhilaration of soaring beyond human limits.<br \/>\nBetween Water and Sky is therefore a dual narrative: the quiet of the landscape that welcomes and the futuristic impetus that projects upward.
